Herdade do Pessegueiro is located in the heart of the “Parque Natural do Sudoeste Alentejano e Costa Vicentina”, PNSACV, 180 km from Lisbon, 170 km from Faro and a few meters from the wonderful beach of Ilha do Pessegueiro.

Herdade do Pessegueiro was built by Mr. José Castanheira for over 30 years, now deceased.

At first it was a farm and cattle farm, but soon the love for horses led Mr. José Castanheira and his daughter Cláudia Castanheira to dedicate themselves to the breeding of Lusitanian, Arab and English horses. Later, as they dedicated themselves only to breeding Lusitano horses, they started the equestrian tourism project, combining the beauty of the landscapes, the gastronomy and the pleasure of riding the Lusitano horse, on the Alentejo Coast.

Herdade do Pessegueiro has several facilities, including an Alentejo hill, transformed into 5 rustic houses, all of them overlooking the sea and the mountains and surrounded by green areas for your leisure.

Herdade do Pessegueiro also has three outdoor riding arenas and several boxes and stalls, in addition to ample grazing paddocks.

The estate also has an area for socializing, the “Honesty – bar” where you can enjoy a good Alentejo wine, while consulting photo albums, reading a book, listening to music or even talking about equestrian curiosities.

If none of these options are to your liking and you prefer to hear the sound of birds, observe various plants, feel the breeze on your face, you can always visit the lake, where you can meditate, fish and even swim.
