Herdade do Pessegueiro is located in the heart of “Parque Natural do Sudoeste Alentejano e Costa Vicentina” , PNSACV, 180 km from Lisbon, 170 km from Faro and a few meters from the wonderful beach of Ilha do Pessegueiro. Herdade do Pessegueiro was built by Mr. José Castanheira for over 30 years.
Our History
At first it was a farm and cattle farm, but soon the love for horses led Mr. José Castanheira and his daughter Cláudia Castanheira to dedicate themselves to the breeding of Lusitanian, Arab and English horses. Later, as they dedicated themselves only to breeding Lusitano horses, they started the equestrian tourism project, combining the beauty of the landscapes, the gastronomy and the pleasure of riding the Lusitano horse, on the Alentejo Coast.

An invitation to discover
The estate also has an area for socializing, the “Honesty – Bar” where you can enjoy a good Alentejo wine, while consulting photo albums, reading a book, listening to music or even talking about equestrian curiosities.
